Holiday Hair Tips with Rodney Cutler
The holidays are fast approaching and it's time to start planning your total holiday looks for each occasion. We had a Q&A from behind the scenes at our holiday photo shoot with our Artistic Director, Rodney Cutler, to get some expert advice on the top looks for the holiday season. Check out his expert advice and be sure to book an appointment to coordinate with all your upcoming holiday events and even pick up some host gifts too!
What is a hair "do" for the holidays?
The holidays are a great time to upgrade your haircolor. All great looks start with a strong base and your color can take your everyday look to the next level! The color trends are endless, but you can't go wrong with a classic dimensional look.
Retro glam looks had a big moment at fashion week, and these translate seamlessly to holiday style. Whether it’s glamorous blowout or vintage rolls, these more “dressed up” looks will elevate your overall holiday look.
What Hair Cuttery services would you recommend to get a flawless holiday look?
For holidays, it’s a great opportunity to time your cut and color with an event and work on fun styles as opposed to opting for the normal topknot! If you have an up-do, braid look, or curl set you’ve been dying to try but never could find the occasion- now’s the time to do it! For color- think about going for richer, more vibrant colors to play up the look.
What are the must-have hair accessories for the holiday season?
Subtle, delicate hair accessories (think more hair “jewelry”) dress up everyday styles without overwhelming the look. Thin gold headbands, rose-gold hairpins, and silver barrettes are all great ways to accompany most looks.
What are some top tips to go from the office to an event?
Hair accessories are an easy way to glam up your day look. Just pin in, spray with some Cibu Finista for hold, and you’re good to go! The pony tail is an easy style that can be interpreted endless ways- wear low and sleek for a polished, sophisticated look or pull hair into a high pony tail and add a headband to look effortlessly chic. For shorter hair go for a wet, slicked-back look to bring the glam. To achieve this look, I love to use Cibu Slickster pomade.
Happy Holidays from all of us at Hair Cuttery!
